Procedure for submitting a takedown notice and counter-notice under the DMCA framework. Provide identification of the work, the URL, your contact details and a statement of good-faith belief.
How to file a notice
Send a written notice that includes: (1) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (2) identification of the allegedly infringing material with enough detail for us to locate it; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized; (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; (6) your physical or electronic signature.
Send the notice via the /contact/ form with the subject line 'DMCA notice'. The desk acknowledges receipt within one business day.
How we process a notice
The desk reviews the notice for completeness. If complete, the desk disables access to the allegedly infringing material and notifies the uploader (where applicable). If incomplete, the desk replies with the missing information.
The desk does not adjudicate the underlying dispute. The desk's role is to act on notices that meet the statutory requirements and to forward counter-notices when filed.
Counter-notice
If you believe the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice with the desk. The counter-notice must include the elements required by the applicable statute.
Send counter-notices via the /contact/ form with the subject line 'DMCA counter-notice'. The desk forwards the counter-notice to the original claimant and restores access to the material in accordance with the statute's timing rules.
Repeat infringers
The desk maintains a record of resolved notices. Users who accumulate repeated valid notices may have their lobby-side access limited. The desk does not hold account state for the operator; any operator-side consequences are handled by the operator's own policy.
